I am Sentria Whitfield, a 33 year old mother of 3... and 1/2 children (a little boy on the way) along with a special person in my life who backs me 100%, my husband Gregory. As a non-traditional student, I feel that the older students set an example for students coming to college for the first time. I hope that my service with TJCSGA this year will be one of pride, honor and respect to everyone and every school that will be at convention this year. I have faced much adversity in my life that I pray no one here will ever have to endure. The lowest point of my life is when two of my babies drowned in a flood in 2004. I know that in my heart that they have a place in heaven, and I pray that my service to this board, as well as finishing my degree will exemplify my will to achieve this for them as well as my son Ja'Coure and his little brother on the way. I hope and pray that this year will go well for everyone, and if you need me I will be available to listen to you. Lastly, I would like to thank Dr. Sanchez, District President of Navarro College and all of the Navarro College faculty and staff, and of course my advisor Phil Sims and his family for all of their support and love. Without them, none of these opportunities would be available for me. We are all working together to serve the students of Navarro College and look out for their best interests while they are away from their homes and families. As TJCSGA Secretary I look forward to serving all of you and your respective institutions as well.
Duties: The Secretary is responsible for the recording of the official minutes of the organization. |
