"Piecing Together A Better Tomorrow"
Dear TJCSGA Delegation,
It is with enthusiasm that I write to you on behalf of the Executive Board with an update on the nature of the 2021 State Convention.
This month, the Executive Board voted to conduct a virtual State Convention in 2021. This decision was not made lightly, nor was it made with haste. After carefully considering each factor, we determined that this would be the most efficient decision for the body of TJCSGA as a whole - its entire community. With the majority of schools still acting under travel restrictions, only a relatively small portion of schools could attend an in person Convention.
Although a hybrid Convention was heavily considered, after deeper inspection into travel restrictions, we determined that a hybrid Convention could leave both in-person and virtual attendees lacking the best experience possible, as our attention to creating and carrying out the Convention would be split between two versions of it.
I want to emphasize the Executive Board’s strong belief that a virtual Convention does not equate to a bad Convention. As we saw last year’s amazing Executive Board design a virtual Convention - we will take that momentum and build off of it to orchestrate an unforgettable experience.
One final note - I firmly feel that it is not just the Executive Board that creates a Convention. It is you. Every one of you brings a passion, a skill, and a drive to our community that a Convention could not exist without. Thank you for being the heartbeat of TJCSGA. Thank you for weathering the obstacles this year alongside the rest of the Executive Board and myself to continue to live out and further the values that devise the TJCSGA.
Please refer to www.tjcsga.org to view the Convention theme, read my letter to the Delegation, and stay current on further updates.
I look forward to the 2021 State Convention!
Sincerely,
Shelby B. Carroll
